OLACDE report: renewables now account for 67.7% of electricity in Latin America

The latest report from the Latin American Organization for Energy Cooperation and Development (OLACDE) reveals that renewable sources reached a 67.7% share of the region's electricity generation. The figure reinforces Latin America's position as the cleanest electricity matrix among the world's major regions, but the document also warns about the still-high dependence on natural gas in key markets such as Mexico and Argentina, and the risk that renewable expansion may be absorbed by data centers and energy-intensive industries without direct benefit to local populations.
